SPRINGDALE, Utah — Zion National Park will launch its seasonal shuttle service on March 2, offering visitors transportation through the park’s most popular areas during peak tourism months.
Because the shuttle service is run by a private company, it will not be affected by NPS budget and staffing cuts.
The National Park Service announced Monday that the shuttle system will operate with varying schedules throughout spring, summer, and fall of 2025, with extended hours during the peak summer season from mid-May through mid-September.
During summer operations, the Zion Canyon Line will run from 6 a.m. to 8:15 p.m., while spring and fall schedules will operate from 7 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. The complementary Springdale Line, operating on a flag-stop basis, will provide service from the nearby town of Springdale into the park.

“Personal vehicles will not be permitted on Zion Canyon Scenic Drive during shuttle operations,” said park officials, who emphasized that no special permits or reservations are required to use the shuttle service beyond standard park entrance fees.
The park expects to face continued parking challenges, with officials recommending that visitors utilize Springdale parking areas and the free shuttle service to access the park. Weekend visits typically see higher congestion, with park authorities suggesting weekday visits or arrival times either early morning or after 3 p.m. to avoid peak crowds.
Bicyclists using park roads must follow specific regulations, including stopping to allow shuttle buses to pass, and may only ride on designated routes such as the Pa’rus Trail.
Park officials plan to announce additional shuttle service details for November and the holiday season later in the year. Current shuttle schedules and updates can be found at go.nps.gov/ZionShuttle.
