Planning a trip to Glacier National Park for 2025? Make sure you’re up to date on the latest changes to the vehicle reservation system!
Park officials just announced changes to the reservation system that has been in pilot testing for the past five years.
In 2025, Glacier will require a timed-entry vehicle reservation to access the North Fork area at Polebridge and the West Glacier entrance to the Going-to-the-Sun Road.
In a shift from 2024, the system will require visitors to reserve a 30-minute time-slot during which they can enter the park. Reservation requirements will begin at 7 a.m. and end at 3 p.m., which delays the reservation requirement an hour later than it was this past season.
Reservations will be required from June 13 through September 28, 2025.
“In 2025 we are continuing successful measures from the 2024 season, including access to Apgar Village, Two Medicine, and the East Entrance to Going-to-the-Sun Road outside of the vehicle reservation system,” said Glacier National Park Superintendent Dave Roemer. “Within that successful framework we are going to try timed entry to see if we can minimize congestion, optimize visitor arrival, and improve visitor experiences.”
Timed entry has been implemented at other popular national parks, such as Arches, Yosemite, and Rocky Mountain national parks.
Roemer hopes that the change will reduce congestion and wait times at the West Entrance to Going-to-the-Sun Road, which is often listed as one of the most scenic drives in the United States.
