After receiving about 54,000 recommendations, local elementary school children were the final deciders for the names of Jackie and Shadow’s chicks. Once upon a time in our national parks, rangers fed bears pancakes and tourists tossed candy from their cars. “Bear shows” were the main event—and the bears knew it.
