Grand Canyon National Park
The Grand Canyon is one of the most remarkable examples of erosion in the world. The park encompasses 278 miles of the Colorado River, which has carved a mile-deep canyon that can be viewed from both the North and South Rim areas of the park. While the vistas are incredible, only 5% of the roughly 6.25 million people who visit the Grand Canyon every year go below the rim, where the real magic lies.
Basic Information
Entrance Fee: Standard Entrance Pass
Size: 1,904 square miles with North Rim and South Rim entrances.
Operating Schedule: The South Rim of the park is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Between December 1st and May 15, North Rim roads are closed to all vehicles (including snowmobiles) and no visitor services are available.
