Grand Canyon National Park
The Grand Canyon is one of the most remarkable examples of erosion in the world. The park encompasses 278 miles of the Colorado River, which carved a mile-deep canyon that can be viewed from both the North and South Rim areas of the park. While the vistas are incredible, only 5% of the roughly 6.25 million people who visit the Grand Canyon every year go below the rim, where the real magic lies.

Entrance Fee:Â Standard Entrance Pass
Size: 1,904 square miles (1,218,375 acres) with North Rim and South Rim entrances.
Operating Schedule: The South Rim of the park is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Between December 1st and May 15, North Rim roads are closed to all vehicles (including snowmobiles) and no visitor services are available.
