Rocky Mountain National Park

Rocky Mountain National Park provides visitors the opportunity to explore one of the most famous mountain ranges in the world. The park contains meadows, alpine lakes and towering peaks that are accessible via over 300 miles of hiking trails.

Whether you want an easy nature walk to a multi-day backcountry experience, you’re sure to experience the magic this park has to offer. Be sure to keep an eye out for nature’s visitors, such as moose, bighorn sheep and elk.

Basic Information

Entrance Fee: Standard Entrance Fee and a timed-entry reservation during summer months.
Size: 415 square miles (265,807 acres) with four entrances.
Operating Schedule: Rocky Mountain National Park is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, weather permitting.

Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park is officially open for the season. A grizzly bear in Yellowstone National Park recently reminded visitors why there’s no such thing as “bear-proof.” Glacier National Park is temporarily offering a Many Glacier Day Hiker Shuttle as a way for day hikers to access Many Glacier Valley from July 1, 2025 to September 21, 2025 during construction in the Swiftcurrent area. Today is Endangered Species Day. Many species, through the diligent efforts of scientists and conservations have returned from the brink of extinction. For the next few weeks, hikers and bikers can explore Going-to-the-Sun Road without worrying about cars and traffic. Don't miss it!
